Oregano oils are not created equal

Species that contain higher levels of carvacrol grow in the Mediterranean, and are therefore more potent. Depending on the variety of Oregano, it also contains more or less thymol. Our Oregano vulgare plants from the Mediterranean are harvested at their peak in June and July, left to dry for 1-2 days, and then transferred to a special extractor unit. The oil is obtained from the dried leaves and flowers of the herb by steam extraction using a special technology. It takes 1000 kg of the dry herb to produce 15-30 kg of the essential oil.
