Don’t get us wrong here, green vegetables are great, but red vegetables can be just as nutritious. The ultimate all-star is the beet. Don’t let the grungy-looking roots throw you off. Beets are naturally sweeter than any other vegetable, and they pack a ton of flavour underneath their rugged exterior. Many people have been avoiding beets since childhood or have never even tried this highly beneficial food.
You can think of beets as red spinach. They are rich in nutrients like folate and betaine that promote a healthy heart, and can reduce the thickening of arterial walls in those individuals at high risk of cardiovascular disease. And if you look really close, beets kind of look like a heart, coincidence? We don’t think so.

1 green apple, seeds removed
3 carrots or about 1 cup chopped
1/3 cup fresh pineapple chunks
1/2 cup almond milk
2 Tbsp Salus® Red Beet Crystals
Blend all the ingredients in a blender until smooth and enjoy
Breakfast Energy Smoothie
1 Tbsp Udo’s Oil
1 cup almond or rice milk
2 Tbsp organic Greek Yogurt
1 Tbsp Salus® Red Beet Crystals
1 Tbsp protein powder
